Substitution of Ti for Si in titanite and new end-member cell dimensions for titanite

C. L. Hollabaugh, and P. E. Rosenberg

West Ga. Coll., Dep. Geol., Carrollton, GA, United States
Wash. State Univ., United States

Enlargement of the lattice parameters. Synthesis at high temperatures (> or =700 degrees C) in the system CaO-TiO 2 -SiO 2 (+ or -H 2 O). The unit-cell dimensions of the ideal end-member, CaTiSiO 5 , are approximately: a = 7.054Aa, b = 8.703Aa, c = 6.551Aa and beta = 113.77 degrees .--Modified journal abstract.
